PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas — Sandra Bland, the 28-year-old black woman, who died in a Waller County Jail Cell had marijuana in her system when she died according to autopsy results.
The autopsy completed in Harris County, Texas was disclosed in a Thursday afternoon press conference.
A prosecutor for the Waller County District Attorney’s Office, Warren Diepraam said he had seen no evidence to indicate “a homicide.”
He continued that though she tested positive for marijuana, the results do not indicate when Bland consumed the marijuana, or how much of it was in her system. But, he said it could have still impacted her “state of mind” if she had consumer the drug in the three days prior to her death.
Last week, Bland was arrested by a Texas state trooper during a routine traffic stop. She was pulled over for failing to signal a lane change, but became confrontational during the stop.
