@6ABCBreaking reports that a shooting near the campus of Widener University in Chester, Pa. has sent one person to the hospital. The shooting occurred around 11:00 a.m. Thursday at 15th Street and Melrose Avenue, just off Widener’s campus. Widener University Spokesperson Dan Hanson tells Action News that they sent out a text and email at 11:01 a.m. to all students and employees saying the campus was in lockdown. The lockdown was lifted around 11:30 a.m. when Chester Police informed them that no students or personnel are in danger.
