Miami, FL — Police in Miami are conducting a death investigation at Florida International University.
According to NBC6, police responded to Everglades Hall around 11:45 a.m. Thursday and found the 20-year-old male deceased in a dorm room.
Vice President for Student Affairs Larry W. Lunsford sent the following message to the FIU community:
“Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of a student who was found deceased in his room in one of the Modesto A. Maidique Campus residence halls.
At this time there is no evidence of foul play but Miami-Dade Police is conducting a full investigation.
Counselors are available to support students and anyone else impacted by this incident.”
Homicide detectives were on scene but there were no indications of foul play.
