San Rafael, CA — At 1:33am, Marin County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) received a call from Helen Vine Detox Center, reporting that staff members had been shot.
MCSO deputies arrived to find three people suffering from gunshot wounds. Two individuals were transported to Marin General Hospital. Their condition is unknown. The third victim was pronounced deceased at the scene. The victims are all adults, two males and one female. The deceased victim was male. Ages and identifying information for the victims is unknown at this time.
The unknown suspect fled the scene. MCSO searched the area with assistance from San Rafael Police Department, Novato Police Department, Central Marin Police Authority and the California Highway Patrol (CHP), including support from CHP’s helicopter unit.
Late Monday afternoon, The Marin County Sheriff’s Office said the suspect was in custody and was being interviewed by detectives.
A motive for the crime was not known.
