Sunnyvale, California — An armed suspect was fatally shot by three police officers Thursday afternoon, police said.
On Tuesday, around 2 p.m. local time, officers attempted to make contact with a suspect at his residence in the 1200 block of Ayala Drive.
A female adult family member had reported a felony battery had just occurred at the residence.
Officers arrived on scene and were confronted by the suspect armed with a knife who charged towards them.
Three officers fired their weapons at close range striking the suspect. The suspect was transported to a local hospital where he later was pronounced deceased.
The officers were not injured in the incident. The investigation is ongoing.
