Auburndale, FLA. — Polk Sheriff says they’re looking for 2 people who are “heavily armed” following a robbery at a Pawn Shop.

The suspects fired rounds out of their back windshield at responding Haines City police, after the crime.

The sheriff’s office got a tip the suspects were at a house in the area; deputies surrounded it and called out a SWAT team.

“A blue car then came barreling out of the garage straight at the deputies and officers, who opened fire on the car. The car stopped and the one suspect inside the car was immediately taken into custody. He was shot and also bitten by a K-9. He has non-life threatening injuries,”  a media release stated.

At least two suspects are being sought.

Sheriff urges all residents in Haines City area to stay inside their homes.

Deputies will be going door to door in search for suspects.
