On Thursday, a new defendant was added to the criminal case against Donald Trump, accusing the former President of multiple felonies related to the possession of classified documents at his Florida estate following his tenure in the White House.

Special counsel Jack Smith has included Carlos De Oliveira as a defendant in the Trump Mar-a-Lago classified documents case, court records show.

Last month, the former President Donald Trump and his aide, Walt Nauta, were charged in connection with the same case. Both Trump and Nauta have entered not guilty pleas to all charges.

Carlos De Oliveira served as a maintenance worker and played a role in assisting Walt Nauta in moving boxes of classified documents within Mar-a-Lago, after the Justice Department issued a subpoena to Trump for these documents back in May.

This is a breaking news update.
