NEVADA — Donald Trump was swiftly escorted from a stage by the Secret Service during a rally in Reno Saturday night.
Video showed chaos near the podium as officers jumped into the crowd and detained at least one person.
The GOP nominee later returned to the stage to finish his speech and express his gratitude toward the agents who shielded him.
“Nobody said it was going to be easy for us, but we will never be stopped….,” Trump said. “I want to thank the Secret Service. These guys are fantastic. They don’t get enough credit.”
The Trump Campaign released the following statement: “”I would like to thank the United States Secret Service and the law enforcement resources in Reno and the state of Nevada for their fast and professional response. I also want to thank the many thousands of people present for their unwavering and unbelievable support. Nothing will stop us – we will make America great again!”
Unconfirmed reports suggest a firearm was involved.
Massive disruption here in Reno. Armed officers jumped in. People on the floor said — & this is unconfirmed — that they saw a man pull a gun pic.twitter.com/l2u64m83d1
