NASHVILLE — South Precinct detectives are investigating the early morning fatal shooting of Olympia Hobbs, 33, inside her 208 Hopewood Court residence.

From WRKN: Police said Paige Elliott was developed as a potential suspect during the course of their investigation.

During an interview, police said she implicated herself in the crime. Police believe Hobbs was killed during and attempted robbery and that others were also present at the time. Additional arrests are expected.

According to witnesses, there was a knock at the door at 2 a.m. As Hobbs went to answer, shots were fired toward the house. Hobbs was struck.

She was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where she died.

Detectives do not believe the shooting was random and that the residence was targeted for reasons still under investigation.

Hobbs two children, ages 13 and 5, were inside the home at the time of the shooting. They were not hurt and are with relatives.
