FORT CAMPBELL, Kentucky — A soldier was fatally shot during a training exercise at Fort Campbell Tuesday morning, official said.
The soldier has been identified as 22-year-old Pfc. Kevin Rodriguez.
The native of Puerto Rico enlisted two years ago, according to WSMV. He earned several medals for his service in Afghanistan.
Rodriguez was pronounced dead at around 10 AM.
Details surrounding the shooting weren’t immediately clear.
No additional soldiers were injured.
An investigation is ongoing.
Fort Campbell is a United States Army installation located astride the Kentucky-Tennessee border between Hopkinsville, Kentucky, and Clarksville, Tennessee.
