NASHVILLE, Tennessee — There are multiple reports of an active shooter at the Carmike 8 Cinemas movie theater on Bell Road in Antioch.
Police have swarmed the scene and confirm the suspect is dead. Metro police spokesman says the shooting occurred at a showing of ‘Mad Max’. The suspect was armed with a gun and a hatchet.

According to WSMV, witnesses at a nearby business reported at least one person covered with blood.
The shooting was reported at 1:13 p.m. at the theater, the Tennessean reported. Police scanner traffic indicated the suspect may have left a backpack inside the theater that has to be checked by police, the report said.
