ELK GROVE, Illinois — Officials in Elk Grove are investigating a homicide that took place inside a patient’s room at the Alexian Brothers Hospital.
A man allegedly stabbed the 42-year-old victim, a woman, to death in the room.
Police are calling the incident a domestic situation and say no one else was ever in danger.
According to WGN, a couple was there visiting another family member, when the male, 44, allegedly stabbed the woman to death.
The murder weapon has been recovered.
The suspect has been arrested and charges are pending.
Elk Grove Village is a municipality located in northeastern Illinois adjacent to O’Hare International Airport and the city of Chicago.
The village is located primarily in Cook County with a small portion in DuPage County.
