JACKSON, Mississippi — A Jackson police officer who was accused of repeatedly sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl over a six month period has killed himself, local media reports.
Attorney Lisa Ross, who is representing the mother of the alleged victim, held a press conference in front of Jackson Police Headquarters and laid out the horrific accusations. Ross says the unnamed officer sexually abused the teen ‘once or twice a week’ for six months.
She said the officer recorded videos of the crimes and called the footage “took explicit to watch.”
“We plan to ask the United States Attorney’s Office and the Department of Justice to take over an investigation of a Jackson Police officer who has repeatedly sexually assaulted a minor,” Ross said. “What he did to this young girl was unconscionable and there’s no telling how many others are out there… We want people who have seen something to say something.”

The officer reportedly fatally shot himself on I-220 Monday afternoon.
