On Saturday, at approximately 7:08AM, police officers responded to a vehicle collision in the southbound lane of the Hutchinson River Parkway and Orchard Beach Road within the confines of the 45th Precinct. Upon arrival, officers determined that a black 2003 Ford Explorer SUV with a single occupant, a 45 year old male, was travelling northbound on the Hutchinson River Parkway where he struck the median. Upon impact, the vehicle was sent into the southbound traffic lane where it collided with Vehicle #2, 2010 Lincoln Towncar livery vehicle which was operated by a 51 year old male and occupied by a 54 year old male in the rear passenger seat. Vehicle #3, a 2014 GMC white SUV that was operated by a 49 year old female and occupied by a 15 year old male in the passenger seat, was also travelling northbound on the Hutchinson Parkway when it struck Vehicle #1. EMS responded to the scene and pronounced the two occupants of Vehicle #2 DOA at the scene. The occupants of Vehicle # 1 and 2 were all removed to Jacobi Hospital in stable condition. There were no arrests in regards to this incident and the investigation is ongoing.
