Brooklyn: Cops Arrest Gun-Toting Subway Rider

On Wednesday, November 13, 2013, at 3:20PM, Police Officer Diandre Campbell, assigned to Brooklyn Transit Impact, and Police Officer Randal McFarland, assigned to Transit District 32, were on patrol in the Church Avenue Subway Station on the “Q” line when the observed the suspect enter the transit system using a student ID. The officers, seeing that the male was obviously not a student, stopped the suspect to question him. Upon verifying the suspect was not a student, a name check revealed that he was in fact a transit recidivist, making him not eligible to receive a summons. The officers placed the suspect under arrest, and consequent to searching his bag, a 6 shot Taurus 38 caliber revolver with 5 live rounds was recovered.
