TEXAS — Officials were investigating an officer involved shooting in downtown Austin, Texas on Sunday.
The scene was in the 500 block of West Avenue.
The officer was reportedly shot in the abdomen and is in stable condition following a shootout.
The suspect was killed.
From WFAA: “Authorities told Plohetski that preliminary information said an officer was inside the restaurant having lunch when he responded to a disturbance call in the parking lot of the restaurant and at that time is when he was shot.”
Police are expected to hold a news conference shortly.
