Burglary Suspect Arrested After Burning Home’s Door, Barricading Himself In Teen’s Room While Pulling Her Hair: Cops

HOUSTON, Texas – On August 28, 2022, deputies with Constable Mark Herman’s office responded to an in progress burglary call in the 4100 block of Lake Cypress Circle. Upon arriving it was discovered that the suspect jumped out of second story bedroom window and fled on foot.

Deputies established a perimeter and were able to apprehend the suspect and identified him as Andra Singleton.

Further investigation revealed he initially attempted to make entry into the home by burning the back door with several chemical accelerates before breaking a window.

Once inside, he barricaded himself in the 13 year old girl’s room. While in the room, he rummaged through her belongings and then pulled her hair while she was asleep causing her to scream and gain the attention of her parents who then contacted Precinct 4 dispatch.

Andra Singleton was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail, charged with Burglary with intent to commit another Felony and two counts of Arson – Intentionally damaging a habitation. He was also out on bond for Aggravated Robbery with a Deadly Weapon, Possession of a Controlled Substance and Criminal Trespass of a Habitation. His bond and court information have not been set at this time.
