GRIDLEY, California — The Butte County Sheriff’s Office have arrested a woman for ‘Unlawful Sexual Intercourse with a Minor Victim.’
The suspect is Kari Croxton of Gridley, age 23.
The arrest was the culmination of an investigation that began in 2018. During the investigation, Detectives learned Croxton was sending inappropriate messages to a minor victim.
While investigating the case, Deputies and Detectives conducted multiple interviews. During an interview in November 2019, Croxton admitted to having inappropriate sexual contact with the minor victim. Detectives conducted additional follow-up and Croxton was arrested on December 16, 2019. During an interview after her arrest, Croxton admitted to having sexual intercourse with the minor victim.
Croxton was arrested for one felony count of lewd and lascivious acts with a child 14 or 15 years-old, one felony count of oral copulation on a minor, two felony counts of unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor, and a felony violation of probation. Croxton was booked into the Butte County Jail on December 16.
