A car plowed into a group of people outside of a Starbucks at London King’s Cross railway station Wednesday. The number of injured was not known.
Several ambulances and police units rushed to the scene.
“The car didn’t lose control,” a witness told the Daily Star. “It was being driven at lunatic speeds!”
Another witness, Rob Capper told the Star: “I had was walking from the station up Pentonville Road and had just passed the McDonalds on the left.
“All of an sudden there was some loud engine revs – either with the car having been floored in a low gear or with the clutch depressed.
“Then I heard a series of bangs and saw the Smart car come across the pavement a few metres ahead of me.
“It collided with a man who was outside the door of the Starbucks and I thought immediately that it had gone over him. Instead I think he must have hit the windscreen.
“There was some screaming & uncertainty from those nearby and many people immediately fled the scene – recent events obviously the reason behind that.
Police say the incident is not believed to be terror related.
The investigation is ongoing.
