WEST SIDE CHICAGO — In the ever-so-safe-gun-free zone known as Chicago, Wilfredo Cruz should’ve known he can’t have a firearm.
He learned quick that he was not a victim, instead a criminal.
Cruz called police to report his van was stolen Saturday. As he waited for Officers to investigate, the man found his missing van occupied by two suspects.
Cruz displayed a handgun and fired at the criminals who had stolen his vehicle.
Cops in the area heard the gunshots and rushed to the scene where they immediately arrested him.
Cruz is now facing multiple gun charges. No word on if the thieves were apprehended.
