The most recent shooting death occurred Sunday evening in the Austin neighborhood.
49 year-old Ron Hernandez was killed when his attacker walked up to him on the sidewalk to rob him. He was then shot in the abdomen. Hernandez was pronounced dead after he was taken to a hospital to be treated.
An 8-year-old boy was injured in the same attack.
Also on Sunday evening, Miguel Haro, 44, was shot to death in Cicero during a robbery. He and another man were doing work on a vacant home when the robbers demanded money. His partner gave up valuables, but when Haro did not, he was shot in the head.
A 19-year-old man named Johnny Coria was shot in the chest by a suspect who walked up to him and fired at him in the Little Village neighborhood Friday afternoon. He was taken to a nearby medical facility and pronounced dead.
