The ‘New Yorker’ suspended staff writer Jeffrey Toobin after the CNN analyst reportedly showed his penis on a Zoom conference call.
According to VICE, Toobin “exposed himself during a Zoom call last week between members of the New Yorker and WNYC radio.”
“Jeffrey Toobin has been suspended while we investigate the matter,” the New Yorker said.
Toobin appeared to confess to the incident, calling it a “stupid mistake.”
“I made an embarrassingly stupid mistake, believing I was off-camera. I apologize to my wife, family, friends and co-workers,” Toobin said. “I believed I was not visible on Zoom. I thought no one on the Zoom call could see me. I thought I had muted the Zoom video.”
CNN did not reprimand Tooblin, saying in a statement, “Jeff Toobin has asked for some time off while he deals with a personal issue, which we have granted.”
