“I’m keeping pretty dang warm. I’m about as warm as I would be inside I think, but I haven’t slept inside in so long that maybe that’s not true. I can’t really tell anymore,” Hummel said. “I’ve got a blanket here, a quilt, blanket sleeping bag, inside a sleeping bag, inside a sleeping bag, inside a sleeping bag, and I also wear anywhere from three to six layers on my upper body every night, and three on my lower body and three pairs of socks.”
The 17-year-old Minnesota Boy Scout has made it his goal to sleep outdoors every night for a year.
