LOS ANGELES — A 45-year-old convicted sex offender was found guilty today of raping a woman in Torrance while he was out on bail on another case, officials said.

The jury found Guy Allen Dietz of Calabasas guilty of one count each of forcible rape, forcible oral copulation, sexual penetration by foreign object, rape by threat to arrest or deport, oral copulation under threat to arrest and sexual penetration under threat to intimidation.

Deputy District Attorney Frank Dunnick said  Dietz will face 160 years to life in state prison at a sentencing hearing scheduled for March 9 in Department F of the Los Angeles County Superior Court, Torrance Branch.

Dietz arranged to have the victim come to a home in Torrance on Aug. 28, 2014. When she arrived, he presented a badge and handcuffs claiming to be an undercover police officer and raped her, according to court testimony.

When the victim tried to escape, Dietz struck her but she eventually got away and called police, the prosecutor said. The defendant fled the scene and the next day led California Highway Patrol officers on a high-speed pursuit which ended with his arrest in Monterey County thanks to the assistance of the Monterey County Sheriff’s Department and the Salinas Police Department, the prosecutor added.

At the time of the crime, Dietz had been out on bail for failing to register as a sex offender in case LA077201. The defendant has a 1998 rape conviction and two drug-related convictions in 2005 and 2010.
