NEW YORK — Two Bronx cops arrested a man in possession of an illegal handgun after hearing a gunshot last week. Police Officers Glassman and Marte from the 49 Precinct were on patrol on Friday, March 19 when they heard a gunshot near the Pelham Houses.
The officers searched the area and further investigation led them to a vehicle in front of 2430 Williamsbridge Road. The two officers asked a man inside the car to exit, but the suspect attempted to run.
Police Officer Glassman was able to apprehend the suspect after a brief struggle and recovered a loaded .40 caliber Smith and Wesson handgun.
