PHILADELPHIA — Investigators in Philly are searching for a three men who stole 43 tanks of industrial propane gas last week.

Counterterrorism Officials have been alerted, according to local reports.

The tanks were stolen from two facilities in the city. According to WPVI, the first theft that occurred on Dec. 16 at the Praxair, Welding Gas and Supply Center.

The suspect vehicle is a 1990’s Dodge or Chrysler minivan. Police and Homeland Security want people to be on alert.

Lt. Rosenbaum says police just “want to make sure it’s nothing sinister.” He said they are treating them as industrial thefts, “unless we come up with something else.”

Police said the tanks are worth around $7,000, street value.
