Not-so-smart crooks found with Smart Water dye still on their hands, deputies say

TULARE, CA — On Sunday, TCSO AG Crimes Detectives were called to a grand theft from an agricultural business in Seville. The stolen property was marked with CSI Smart Water, which is invisible. Detectives found evidence that led them to a home in the 15400 Block of Inyo Avenue in Seville.

Three people were at the house at the time. Using a specific light, Detectives checked the suspects’ hands and clothes for Smart Water and found the bright yellow substance on the hands of two of the people detained.

51-year-old Felix Medina and 45-year-old Juan Venegas were arrested and face charges of Grand Theft.

Deputies did not specify what items were stolen.
