‘DANGEROUS AND POSSIBLY ARMED’: Inmate mistakenly released from Kansas jail, Sheriff says

WICHITA, Kansas – On March 21, 2022, at approximately 11:30 a.m. Inmate Elijah Nehemiah Reed was released from the Detention Facility in error. Reed was in custody on two writs to detain through the Juvenile District Court and a criminal possession of a firearm charge through the Adult District Court. After the adult case was dismissed by the District Court a paperwork error in the Sheriff’s Office was made concerning the sentencing status of the two juvenile cases and Reed was released from custody in error.

Reed is a 20 year old African-American Male who was last known to live in Wichita. He is 6ft 2in tall and weighs approximately 150 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.

Reed could be dangerous and possibly armed.
