NASHVILLE, TENN. — Midtown Precinct detectives are working to identify the man who Friday night hid in the back seat of an unlocked vehicle after the 22-year-old female driver went inside the Shell convenience store at 5455 Nolensville Pike and then threatened to shoot her unless she drove according to his direction.

The woman parked her car in front of the store at 9 p.m. and went inside for approximately ten minutes. She got back into her car and as she was traveling westbound on Hickory View Drive, the man jumped up from the back seat. He told her he had a weapon and to drive. She initially complied but then accelerated, made several sharp turns at a high rate of speed, and returned to the Shell where she jumped out of the vehicle. The suspect also got out and fled on foot.
