Northern California has been hit hard after a storm packing hurricane force winds assaulted the drought-parched state.
Due to the heavy rain, San Francisco has had to close their famous cable car system and many schools have shuttered for the day. The San Francisco’s downtown Financial District and Marina district have also ben closed due to the storm.
USAToday reports that Truckers using the highly exposed Richmond-San Rafael Bridge — which stretches across the northern end of San Francisco Bay — were advised to avoid the structure because of high winds.
Pacific Gas & Electric report that there are 20,000 customers without power.
