American Express customers in multiple countries reported a system outage on Thursday.
Customers reported denied transactions and long wait times to reach customer service. AmEx gift cards were also affected.
According to DownDetector.com, 76% of the reported problems involved using credit cards.
There was no immediate word on what caused the disruption.
