Police Responding To Explosion at Hotel Next To Nashville Airport; Multiple Injuries

NASHVILLE — Police and fire officials were on the scene of a gasoline explosion in a hotel room next to Nashville’s BNA international airport Sunday evening.

The HomeTowne Studios, Nashville Airport hotel was evacuated. The call came in around 3:30 p.m. local time.

WZTV reported: Witnesses say there was a loud boom and saw a man running down the hall who was burned.

Four people went to the hospital, including one person received third degree burns and is in critical injuries. They say a couple gallons of gasoline exploded in the room.


According to WSMV, witnesses said the ‘force from the blast was so powerful, it blew out windows and bent the railing.’

It was unclear why the resident had gasoline in the room to begin with.

The investigation is ongoing.
