Western High School and nearby Waller-Williams Environmental School are on lockdown Friday morning as police respond to a report of an “active shooter” at the high school.
The report has not been confirmed, Jefferson County Public Schools spokeswoman Bonnie Hackbarth stressed. She said there are no reports of any injuries and that police are searching the building.
Hackbarth said Waller-Williams, which is a special school for students with disabilities, was locked down as a precaution. She did not immediately know where the report came from.
