DERBY, Kansas — A miniature dachshund named Lucy dug herself under a concrete slab at her owner’s home and wasn’t found for 13 days.
The dog was found after the homeowner, who thought the dog had run away from the fenced in backyard, heard a quiet bark from Lucy under the slab. He started digging and called the fire department for help.
Little Lucy was under the concrete slab that held a HVAC unit. Here is a video report from the Wichita Eagle:
The dog was rescued and taken to the vet, she will make a full recovery.
