“She cut me,” the woman told the dispatcher in the call.
“What did she cut you with?” the dispatcher replied.
“A knife. I’m pregnant. She cut me in my stomach. I’m afraid.”
“She broke a glass,” the woman said.
“She broke a glass? Did she stab you with the broken glass also?”
“Yeah.”
LONGMONT, Colorado — A pregnant woman was severely beaten before the attacker cut open her stomach and removed the unborn child.
The two met at the suspect’s home about an ad for baby clothes she posted to Craigslist.
“Officers arrived on scene and could hear a female calling for help inside the home. Officers entered the home and located a female who had been beaten and stabbed in the stomach,” a statement from Longmont Police said.
The woman was rushed to a hospital and is expected to survive, police say.
The suspect in the attack is believed to be 34-year-old Dynel Lane. She showed up at a hospital with the dead baby and told workers she had a miscarriage. It’s not clear if the suspect is in custody.
Investigators are now in the process of obtaining a search warrant for the suspect’s home and are expected to be there throughout the evening.
The names of the suspect and victim have not been released. Police say the victim and suspect did not know each other.
