Gilbertsville, NY – On July 18, 2015, at about 6:00a.m., New York State Police at Sidney arrested Benjamin J. Stebbins, 22, of Gilberstville, NY for the misdemeanors of Criminal Trespass 3rd and Criminal Mischief 4th.
This arrest resulted from a complaint received a complainant on Maple Street in the Village of Gilbertsville.
An investigation determined that Stebbins had mistakenly entered a residence on Maple Street and then fell asleep on the sofa. While attempting to gain access to the rear and then front door he had caused about $175.00 worth of damage.
This noise caused a resident to wake up and call 911 from outside their house. Stebbins advised that he had been drinking alcohol and had been coming from a camp when he entered the wrong house.
He was issued tickets returnable to the Town of Butternuts Court on July 23, 2015.
