INGLEWOOD, California — 75-year-old Robert Hollis was found dead inside of his apartment in the 800 block of Glenway Drive shortly before 1 p.m. last Thursday.
One of the victim’s sons made the horrific discovery.. his father’s headless body. Mr. Hollis’ head is still missing.
The Hollis family said both doors of his apartment were locked and it’s a mystery how someone could have entered the home.
No arrests have been made. The 75-year-old victim was blind but a motive for taking his head is unknown.
Nothing was stolen from his home and he was even wearing all of his jewelry when he was found, a family member told CBS.
The victim had tunnel vision in his left eye and would not be able to see people around him very well, the family told ABC7.
Inglewood police have not spoken much regarding the investigation.
Following a candlelight vigil Monday night, Mayor James Butts said to maintain the integrity of any police investigation, some information will not be released.
“There are very few leads in this case, but someone knows something, someone saw something. We’re asking this person to come forward,” he said.
