MORGAN COUNTY, Indiana — FBI agents showed up at the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office on Monday afternoon. They spent two and a half hours searching before they left with a locked safe and two boxes of documents.

The jail’s command staff said the FBI search warrant sought documents written by Allison, the grant writer and chief procurement officer for the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office. Agents were interested in surplus military equipment obtained by the department. They seized some records while the rest were stored at Allison’s Morgan County home.

Later Monday, the FBI served another search warrant at Allison’s estate.

Sources familiar with the investigation said agents were looking for documents related to the construction of the Harrison Township Fire Department headquarters building in Waverly.
