Springfield, Florida — A Springfield police officer was arrested and charged with a felony after he allegedly used excessive force on a resident.
“After reviewing the case, talking to the state attorney office, we obtained arrest warrants for Mr. Nelson this morning (Tuesday),” Bay County Sheriff Tommy Ford said. “It’s an embarrassing situation, it’s a infuriating situation from a law enforcement perspective, but we hope that it shows our accountability measures work.”
