LOS ANGELES — A former fourth-grade teacher at a Canoga Park elementary school was sentenced today to five years in state prison for inappropriately touching six students.
Rene Tenas, 39, of Canyon Country pleaded no contest on Oct. 2 to two felony counts of lewd act upon a child.
Deputy District Attorney David Nary said Tenas also was ordered to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.
On or between Aug. 1, 2016 and Jan. 31, 2017, the defendant inappropriately touched the 9 and 10-year-old victims at Hart Street Elementary School, the prosecutor said.
