LOS ANGELES — A former Lakewood High School teacher accused of sexually abusing a student pleaded no contest.
Mary Jahn, 53, pleaded to one count of lewd act upon a child.
Jahn is expected to be sentenced on Nov. 30. Under the terms of the plea agreement, Jahn faces three years in state prison and lifetime sex offender registration upon sentencing.
The defendant engaged in a three-year sexual relationship starting in July 2008 with a 15-year-old female student while she was a teacher at Lakewood High School, prosecutors said. In 2017, the now adult victim alerted authorities about the sexual abuse.
The case was investigated by the Long Beach Police Department.
