FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA — (News Release / Fairfax PD) — Detectives arrested Joseph Patrick Gamerl, 53, of Fairfax, on Friday, June 17, and charged him with taking indecent liberties with a child and aggravated sexual battery. The arrest came as a result of an investigation that began on May 9, when the 10-year-old victim disclosed to a family member that the suspect had touched her inappropriately.
After a thorough investigation, Major Crimes Division detectives determined that Joseph Patrick Gamerl, 53, of Fairfax, was using an electronic device to solicit minors. Detectives believe there may be additional victims in this case.
On August 8, around 4:00 p.m., the Fairfax County Police Department’s Fugitive Squad arrested Gamerl in another jurisdiction and transported him to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center where he was charged with three counts of using an electronic device to solicit a minor and three counts of soliciting child pornography.
