WATCH: (Scroll Down For Video) Riot police have deployed stun grenades and tear gas at demonstrators protesting against a new migrant center on the island of Kos.

Over 2,000 locals took part in the march from the village of Pyli to to an abandoned military base.

As a result of the clash, a nine-year-old boy was injured during the violence on the Greek island.

Last week locals lit fired, hurled petrol bombs at police and blockaded roads near the site.

This is the latest instance of violence regarding the controversial center.

The camp is one of five hotspots the Greek government is building on multiple islands, they are designed to house thousands of migrants.

The centers will allow officials to offer resettlement to the migrants into the European Union.

Angry locals have voiced their outrage by claiming it will have a devastating impact on tourism, which is the islands main source of income.
