Gunman Robs Store And Then Uses An Uber Taxi As His Getaway Car

Police have said that a 23-year-old man has robbed a store in Maryland at gunpoint before then trying to escape the scene in an Uber car.

Dashawn Terrel Cochran was at a store on Wednesday morning when he brought a bottle of Tylenol cold medicine to the counter, he then pointed a gun at an employee and demanded that they give him money.

Cochran ran out with a pule of cash and he was then spotted getting into the back of a silver Lexus which was then later pulled over by police.

The driver of the car explained how he worked for Uber and that he had just picked up Cochran and another passenger.

Both the driver and the other passenger said they had nothing to do with the robbery and they were both released.

Cochran was taken into custody, charged with armed robbery, first-degree assault, second-degree assault and theft less than $10,000, reports ABC. 

He is being held on $500,000 bail.

Officers arrested Cochran within 30 minutes of the robbery call, according to the police department.
