According to Mashable, the pro-Assad group Syrian Electronic Army claims it has hacked the Twitter and Facebook accounts of U.S. President Barack Obama. “All the the links that Barack Obama account tweeted it and post it on Facebook was redirected to a video showing the truth about Syria,” an SEA spokesperson wrote to Mashable.
President Obama’s official Twitter and Facebook accounts have a combined audience of 76 million followers.
The account was compromised less than a day after Obama’s presidential campaign website was also hacked by the SEA.
The Syrian Electronic Army confirmed to Infowars that they were behind the hack.
