A hacker has released data from more than 20,000 FBI employees and 9,000 Department of Homeland Security employees.

The hackers, tweeting as @DotGovs, posted a link on CryptoBin listing job titles, full names, work emails, mobile numbers.

The list includes budget analysts, directors, senior advisers and computers specialists.

A Department of Homeland Security released a statement saying: “We take these reports very seriously, however there is no indication at this time that there is any breach of sensitive or personally identifiable information.”

However, several sites have verified that the information leaked is factually correct.

Hackers reported to Motherboard that they accessed the information by compromising an email account of a Justice Department official.

One of the hackers told Motherboard:  “So I called up, told them I was new and I didn’t understand how to get past the portal,”

“They asked if I had a token code, I said no, they said ‘that’s fine – just use our one’.”

After that, the hackers gained access to over 200 gigabytes of sensitive data.

It is the latest apparently pro-Palestine attack on US government systems.
