LOS ANGELES — A 37-year-old track coach at Rosemead High School has been charged with having a long-term sexual relationship with a student, beginning when the victim was 14 years old.
Fidel Camarena Dominguez, of La Puente, faces six counts of lewd act upon a child 14 or 15, two counts each of oral copulation of a person under 16 and dissuading a witness, as well as one count each of unlawful sexual intercourse and oral copulation of a person under 18.
Dominguez is accused of having sex with the female student from February 2015 to June 2017, according to the criminal complaint.
Bail is scheduled at $400,000. If convicted as charged, the defendant faces a possible maximum sentence of more than 10 years in state prison.
The case remains under investigation by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
