Hundreds of migrants are now returning to camps near the Calais Jungle, weeks after the makeshift town was demolished.

The camp was demolished was demolished in October with thousands of migrants transported around France to new accommodation.

There are now reports that there up to six hidden camps, which include a mini ‘jungle’.

One ‘secret’ camp has reportedly started growing at the rate of dozens a week near the village of Norrent-Fontes, not far from Calais, according to The Independent.

According to the Independent, refugee advocate Professor Sue Clayton from Goldsmith’s University found the camp earlier in December.

She said: ‘You see it through the trees and it’s like a mini-Jungle.

The British government agreed to install a border wall in Calais in an attempt to stem the flow of migrants illegally entering the UK.

The 13-foot wall runs along a 0.6-mile stretch of the main road leading to Calais port, next to the area that used to house the sprawling camp.

The concrete barrier – estimated to cost £2million – aims to prevent new arrivals stowing away on trucks bound for Britain.
