Husband Surprises Wife With Breakfast, Wife Shoots Him (VIDEO)

A husband and Fort Bragg soldier was shot in the chest Friday morning in Fayetteville, North Carolina after his wife thought he was a home intruder.

The incident happened at around 10:15 a.m. in the 1100 block of Christina Street.

Fayetteville Police said that husband Zia Segule, age 28, left for work in the morning. His wife, Tifany Segule, 27, set the home alarm system after he left.

Unexpectedly to Tiffany, the alarm sounded midway through the morning. Unbeknownst to her, her husband to surprise her with breakfast.

Believing an intruder was in her home and standing behind her closed bedroom door, Tiffany at the bedroom door and into her husband’s chest.

Police say Zia entered through the front door, although it is unknown as to whether he announced himself or attempted to turn off the alarm.

Zia Segule survived his injuries and was able to walk and talk after the incident.

He has been released from Cape Fear Valley Medical center, though he would not speak to the media in detail.”

“I’m good,” he managed to say as he left the hospital on Friday afternoon.

Wife Tiffany was taken to the Fayetteville Police Department for questioning. Police report that she may have been on high alert due to several robberies and vehicle break-ins that have occurred in the neighborhood since the first of the year.
