The brutal terror organization is reportedly trying to raise funds by brokering a sale of the body of beheaded journalist James Foley.
Buzzfeed.com reported that it has contacted one of the ‘brokers’ and the middleman portrayed the sale as an act of humanity to alleviate the suffering of the Foley family. He claimed his motivation was to help the grieving family find closure, calling his work “a humanity case.”
This news comes as ISIS looks for ways to gain leverage with their demands as the US has strict policy to never negotiate with terrorists, even if that means death to the abducted hostages.
As of late, ISIS has financed their terror activities with the sale of oil produced in the overrun areas that the terror group has captured. Financing has also come from other countries that are willing to secure the release of their citizens, by negotiating terms and sending large payouts to the terrorists.
However due to the price dip in oil and US and Britain steadfast policy of ‘no negotiations’ ISIS has sought out new ways of securing financing.
The group will go as far to provide DNA samples to the Foley family, to prove that they are truly offering the body of James Foley.
